Mission Accomplished: Magpies' Stunning 4th Place Finish at Their First LAN
Mission Magpies Shine in Their Organizational LAN Debut
This past weekend marked a monumental moment for Mission Magpies as the organization made its debut at a Call of Duty LAN event. While the players brought a wealth of prior LAN experience, this was the first time competing under the Mission Magpies banner—and they made it count.
Navigating a Tough Group Stage
The competition began with a challenging group stage draw, pitting the Magpies against higher-seeded teams, including the number-one seed, AVNG. Despite starting with two tough losses, the team rallied to secure a crucial win later in the day. Every match in the group was highly competitive, with three teams finishing on the same record. Ultimately, the Magpies' head-to-head results secured them a 3rd-place group finish, advancing them to Winners Round 1.
Dominance in Winners Round 1
The Magpies faced Hammer Esports in the first playoff round. Their experience and cohesion shone through as they swept the series 3-0, earning a spot in Winners Round 2 against top-seeded AVNG.
Pulling Off the Unexpected
As underdogs heading into the match against AVNG, expectations were tempered. The series started slowly, but a map 3 Control win lit a fire in the Magpies. They carried that momentum into maps 4 and 5, completing a thrilling reverse sweep to secure a shocking upset victory. This performance not only stunned the competition but showcased the Magpies' resilience and ability to perform under pressure.
The Rollercoaster Continues
The next round brought a close and hard-fought series against Ekletyc. Despite their best efforts, the Magpies fell 3-1, moving them to the Losers Bracket. There, they faced Algeria Esports, a new team with plenty of potential. In another tightly contested match, the Magpies emerged victorious with a 3-1 win, keeping their run alive.
A Final Test Against AVNG
The journey came full circle with a rematch against AVNG. Both teams entered the match riding momentum from earlier victories, but fatigue began to take its toll. The Magpies fought hard but ultimately fell 0-3, concluding their tournament run in 4th place.

For an organization competing in its first LAN, a top-four finish was an incredible achievement. The players’ experience and dedication shone through, exceeding all expectations and showcasing what they were capable of.

Mission Magpies Announce First Call of Duty Roster for European COD League...
Mission Magpies is proud to announce the formation of our first-ever Call of Duty roster as we set our sights on competing in the prestigious European COD League. This marks a significant milestone for our organization as we expand into one of the most competitive esports titles.
The journey to solidify our roster has been both exciting and challenging. Initially, our team was set to be led by Brightside, whose leadership qualities and in-game expertise laid a solid foundation. However, after Brightside’s decision to step down as captain, we welcomed G0nn, a talented player making the switch from Halo to Call of Duty.
Despite his potential and dedication, G0nn made the tough decision to step down after careful reflection, citing the need for more practice to reach the competitive level required for the European COD League. He will remain with the team as a substitute, and we fully support his decision while looking forward to his continued growth as a player.
Stepping up to lead the team is Towlson, who has taken on the role of captain to assemble and build our current roster. Under his leadership, we are confident in the team’s ability to compete at a high level and represent Mission Magpies with determination and resilience.

LONG TERM FRIEND JOINS MISSION MAGPIES!
It's almost fate... Hulse, the owner of Mission Magpies and Sprat reuniting! Previously teammates in competitive play during Ghosts and Advanced Warfare are now working alongside each other on the management team.
Jack joins us as our PR manager, focused on the development of our website presence. With his background in IT and experience with web development, it seems like a position which suits him perfectly. Aiming to become more involved as time goes on, Sprat will be looking to impress in this venture, after years of following Call of Duty and esports.
We are looking forward to the future of Mission Magpies together, joining the rest of the team on our journey in this incredible project!

BRIGHTSIDE TAKES AN EARLY STEP BACK FROM MMAGS BLACK.
Due to personal reasons, Brigthside unfortunately has decided to take a step back from being a first team player going into our first competitive season. His new-found career opportunities are massively important to him and must become a priority.
Therefore, this leaves MMAGS Black LF2 for the foreseeable future. Working hard to compete in EU leagues, we begin searching for new players. A full roster announcement will be out in the coming weeks, in time for sign ups.
As for Brightside, we are happy that he will remain within Mission Magpies. His love for Call of Duty is still there and he plans to help out as a substitute for the competitive team and possibly having a foot in our upcoming content endeavor, Mission Magpies Media.

As a team, we have been working hard behind the scenes to make a good start to our venture on the content side of our establishment. Along the way we had many set backs and issues with finding an editor but all that matters is the final result. In the end we're over the moon with the outcome and have racked up good initial viewership and support from the supporters. Brightside steps up to become our second Call of Duty competitive player, building his own team for the Black Ops 6 season. Known through playing with him on the BETA, I have personally seen his raw talent. He is simply a young guy looking for an opportunity and this is exactly what we need. Aiming to compete in multiple leagues, we will together be aiming for some good results in the coming months. As a team, we begin a fresh start together, on a mission to the top!

With just short of 2 months until the launch of the long awaited, Black Ops 6, the BETA grind is underway. Our team will be playing long hours enjoying the game, whilst planning for the future of Mission Magpies Media, our gaming entertainment division. We plan to build a network of creators to take us through BO6 and build our project with a creative approach to our debut game.

Join us in welcoming Appy to Mission Magpies!
Rhys will be joining the Mission Magpies management team, focused on managing our Discord server.
Appy's role at Mission Magpies starts off very simple and that's to moderate our Discord community server. One of our main focuses as an organisation is to develop the UK Call of Duty scene and an idea we had was to put some time into developing a Discord sever, so that players and creators can connect, collaborate and communicate within one platform. It's with great pleasure that we launch our Discord sever, with hopes of supporting COD players all around the UK and providing the connectivity channels needed to discover new opportunities for Call of Duty lovers in this country.
However, over time we plan to work together more closely within the management team. Appy's vast experience in esports, stemming back to Advanced Warfare, through Rocket League in recent times and even experimenting with the managing of esports teams, allows for an alternative perspective to provide direction and advice for our journey ahead. Working coherently in a team is exactly what Appy and his new teammates need, as the bonding and team building phase begins.

Appy takes up a more involved role in Mission Magpies...
After our recent recruitment of Appy to the Mission Magpies management team, we have discovered his real importance to this project. Originally, he was tasked with developing a platform for UK COD players and creators to connect, through our Discord community server. Rhys has done an incredible job so far, earning him a more involved role within the management side of Mission Magpies, as our new Community Manager.
We sat down as a management team to have a good chat about our plans for Black Ops 6 and the launch of Mission Magpies Media. It's clear to see that Appy has a very good understanding of the esports fanbase in the UK and he also has some valuable management experience in a Rocket League organisation previously. With his time in Rocket League, Rhys has overseen real passion for esports, being a part of a community with little profit/ funding, similar to the Call of Duty scene in the UK. This enables his ability to connect with passionate fans and provide vision of how to engage, entertain and retain the audience.
Therefore, it's with great pleasure to announce the change in his role to become our official Community Manager. Appy will be focused on bringing ideas to the table, which directly supports our vision of developing the UK Call of Duty scene and gets our audience involved in the project. Starting with BO6 and the launch of Mission Magpies Media, you can expect full involvement with our team and community, driving a team approach towards better opportunites for Call of Duty players and creators in the UK.

It's with great pleasure that we begin our journey in competitive Call of Duty, with the recruitment of our first player - Vermin. He fits right in with what we're looking for in our recruitment search, with him being an aspiring professional player from the north east and searching for an opportunity.
Alfie will now take charge of our first Call of Duty roster, leading us into our debut game, Black Ops 6. Our new captain will be searching for teammates and looking to make a push in online leagues and tournaments and aim to test their ability on LAN by the end of the title.
